Hybrid Teams, Just Ridiculous!
These guys are just getting ridiculous! In order to win a beer pong tournament you basically have to be so good that you never ever miss. At least that was the case during SCBP first WSOBP V satellite tournament held at Canes Bar and Grill, San Diego.
During the Loser Bracket finals two Hybrid teams met. It was recorded that Half Baked only missed twice (82%) and LA Steelers decided to go ahead and just not miss at all. Haha! Yeah…A perfect game!
Over the past year Hybrid teams have been popping up with a mixture of top performing beer pong athletes pledging alliances for at least one tournament. You can usually spot them under the registered teams list as they come up with names like, “Don’t Pee On Kobe” or “Logo and the Fat Kid.” Some are more disguised like, “LA Steelers” or “Half Baked.” It was bad enough having to face guys like Dustin (formerly of Pure Filth), Bryan (Kobe), Fat Kid (CtFK) and Mike (Snipers Inc.) when playing on their own teams but to have these guys team up, well it becomes lethal.
But this didn’t matter Saturday-31, as a traveling team from Fresno was able to outlast a 69 team tournament littered with Hybrid teams, SCBP’s finest and the always dangerous “Kick Rocks Crew” of Las Vegas. Peter, co-founder of SoCalBeerPong.com, writes in his recap, “Green Man proved themselves to be the team of the day – beating Brangelina, 2008 Satellite winners Team Beirut, the two Kick Rocks teams, and then Fat Kid and Bryan playing as the LA Steelers – twice.”
I suspect Green Man will no longer be an unknown team after defeating that cast of beer pong superstars.
