There’s No Stabbing in Beer Pong!

mallet1This is getting a little carried away. Now I’m just as passionate about beer pong as the next person especially over rule disputes. But I’ve never heard of someone getting stabbed over beer pong until now.

On September 20th a University of Montana student was stabbed multiple times over a beer pong dispute at a house party in Montana. The man accused of the crime is charged with attempted deliberate homicide, assault with a weapon, criminal mischief and criminal trespass to property. He will face a jury trial on June 12th where if convicted he could face life in prison.

According to court documents,” the stabbing allegedly occurred after a fight between Sheppard and Stewart began. Jorel Sheppard, Collan Sheppard’s brother, told police his brother said of the incident: “The kid swung at me twice, I had to protect myself.”

This is why there needs to be one set of rules. As the WSOBP grows I hope the standard set becomes the norm at backyard house parties. It would be like playing basketball at a friend’s house where double dribbling was permitted?

I bet it was that damn elbow rule!
