Underage Drinking and Beer Pong Lands a Mother in Jail
A Sarasota woman was arrested after she supplied alcohol to her daughter and her high school friends, the Holmes Beach Police Department said.
Officers responded to a noise complaint in the 200 block of North Harbor Drive in Holmes Beach Tuesday at midnight and officers found minors playing the drinking game “beer pong” outside.
Officers approached Janieve Marie Brown of Sarasota, 48, the mother of a 17-year-old at the party, who said she was having a party for her adult niece. Brown and the niece were the only two people over the age of 21 at the party, police said.According to the report, minors, who ranged from 16 to 18 years old, had alcohol on their breath.
It was later found that Brown was having the party for her daughter.Brown was arrested on a charge of hosting an open house party and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
